DSG Breakthrough with the ACE Demonstration

The Acute Care Episode (ACE) demonstration is a new hospital-based demonstration testing the use of a single payment for both hospital and physician services in selected hospitals delivered through Medicare fee-for-service payment method.  Using a single payment over the older two payment method aligns the incentives of hospitals and physicians to provide better quality and efficiency in the healthcare that it provides.
