Jack Baird, CEO/President
Jack founded The Data Systems Group of California in 1970, after
eleven years with IBM. Previously, he was a pilot in the United
States Air Force, and he earned a B.S. in civil engineering from
the University of California, Berkeley.
Jack's accomplishments are numerous. He designed a hospital financial
system for Vallejo General Hospital and was instrumental in the
development of several custom physicians' billing systems -- including
one he created in 1980 for the U.C. Davis faculty physicians, at
that time the largest medical group in California.
As CEO and President, Jack provides extensive industry knowledge,
management leadership and new product ideas as The Data Systems
Group prepares to meet the many challenges that face the healthcare
industry.

Dennis Luther, Vice President
Dennis, a graduate of San Francisco State University, started his
career as an analyst with the Univac Division of Sperry Rand. After
years of industry experience, Dennis joined The Data Systems Group
as a senior programmer in 1973. Among the first projects he engineered
were a factory management system for Levi Strauss International
Systems of Brussels, Belgium in 1975, and the "Exceptional
Student Information System" and the "Cafeteria Accounting
System" for the San Juan School District in Sacramento, one
of California's largest districts.
In the mid 70s, much of DSG's programming work was directed toward
healthcare-related projects, resulting in DSG's entry into electronic
insurance claims processing in 1981. Dennis spearheaded the analysis
and design effort that resulted in DSG's Multi Claim Processor,
the company's first automated electronic insurance claims processing
system.

Carrie Kern, Director of Billing and Compliance
Carrie oversees the staff that provides The Data Systems Group's
customers with technical support related to claims billing. Her
fourteen years of experience as the senior billing department supervisor
at a large county facility provided extensive hands-on experience
optimizing billing of medical claims. During her tenure, she worked
to automate accurate and timely claims processing while assuring
maximum reimbursement.
In addition to facilitating communications between customers and
programmers, Carrie interprets requirements established by claims
payers and fiscal intermediaries. She plays a key role in the development
and implementation of new system-editing criteria used by each DSG
system, and manages the on-site coordination for installations,
new user training and reinforcement training.
